Parker Conflow's Code 5042 is a highly effective Intrinsically Safe water flow switching device for use underground in dust suppression applications.
Parker Conflow's Code 5042 is a highly effective Intrinsically Safe water flow switching device for use underground in dust suppression applications.
Certified as being Instrinsically Safe (IS) for underground use in explosive atmospheres, this pilot-operated valve can be used with pressures up to 100 bar. It consists of two halves – valve (wet end) and solenoid.

The valve is a pilot operated stop-valve, which requires only a small force to open fully. The solenoid half is an electrical coil (driver) which, when energised, causes a mild steel core to move axially within the coil. This movement exerts a force in excess of that required to operate the pilot valve in the wet end.

It is available in 1/2", 3/4", 1" & 2” versions and controls flows up to 180 GPM.

Operated by a 12V DC supply, the device has been designed to operate with an intrinsically safe low energy supply suitable for underground use.

 Markets:
 - Quarrying
 - Mining

 Features/Benefits:
 - Rapid shut off time provides efficient use of water.
 - Safety – operated by a 12V DC supply - uses low voltage unit for operating underground.

 Applications:
 - Controlling belt sprays.
 - Dust suppression on the cutting heads in mines.
 - Control of water cooling to trunk conveyor belt drives.
